Professionalism

Developing business professionals is a core value of Alpha Kappa Psi. Numerous opportunities are provided for brothers to enhance their professional skills through the year. These include:

  • Senior Discussion Panel
  • Etiquette Dinner
  • Resume Workshop
  • Professional Attire Fashion Show
  • Business Speakers
  • Networking Opportunities

Some other events include:

Post Career Fair Event:
Every year, AKPsi holds a Post Career Fair and Post Spring Internship Fair (ICE) event. Brothers get the opportunity to network with recruiters in a relaxed and comfortable setting. In the past, brothers have discussed potential career opportunities with companies such as: Deloitte, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, PNC Bank, Nielsen, Proctor & Gamble, Nestle, Marathon Oil, as well as many other highly respected firms. These AKPsi events are great way for brothers to build relationships, acquire internships, seek employment opportunities, and gain career advice.

In-Chapter Speakers:
We host several in-chapters speakers each semester about current topics in business, advice for networking and interviewing, and specific information related to speakers company or industry. This is yet another great opportunity for brothers to network.

Principled Business Leadership Institute (PBLI):
Each year, brothers of AKPsi attend an Alpha Kappa Psi convention in Chicago with other chapters from the Midwest.  The PBLI allows our members to meet brothers from other chapters, attend helpful lectures, meet the national leadership team, gain career advice and show our chapter pride. Brothers enjoy spending the weekend exploring the beautiful city of Chicago.

National Convention:
Every two years Alpha Kappa Psi hosts a National Convention.  It is a great place to network with brothers from across the nation as well as attend speakers and learn how the fraternity is operated. The 2011 National Convention was held in Phoenix, Arizona.
